Bassist Orlando "Cachaito" Lopez, often referred to as the heartbeat of the Buena Vista Social Club, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9th.
Cachaito, nephew of fellow bassist and mambo innovator Israel "Cachao" Lopez--who died last year--was 76 years old.
