Next year influential jazz label Blue Note turns 70. And to commemorate this momentous milestone, an all-star band led by pianist and Blue Note recording artist Bill Charlap--featuring trumpeter Nicholas Payton, tenor saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, alto saxophonist/flutist Steve Wilson, guitarist Peter Bernstein, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Lewis Nash--will embark on a world tour performing classic tracks from the label's highly-regarded catalog.
Among the tunes performed will be compositions from Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter and others.
