We find the whole Twitter phenomenon to be ridiculous—what is it, micro-blogging? the online equivalent of phone-texting?—but if it's going to become the home of 20-words-or-less record reviews, it's only fair that J.D. Considine—whose infamous pithy reviews of Yes' Big Generator ("Just say no") and the self-titled debut from prog supergroup GTR ("SHT") in the now-defunct Musician magazine, are legendary in certain circles—should get some monetary compensation.

I agree with you on the twitter thing. Stephen Fry is on it for fucks sake. It's like crack in the 80's and the Atkins in the 90's. Trent is right on though. Cornell has really fucked up. But let us not forget Stevie Wonder's 80's transgressions....
Agreed, re: Stevie. But Mr. Wonder had given us a lot more great catalog to fall back on, to dull our pain from his '80s output, than Cornell has. Plus, it was a steady decline. Cornell's was pretty sharp after his first solo album.
